Cafe Cruz, you can get great "grown-up" food, yet the staff is very accomodating to kids; crayons are brought to the tables so kids and grownups can doodle while they wait; the atmosphere is conducive to kid-sized voices (though good manners are expected, as well they should be), and the kid menu has good selections" 2621 41st Avenue, Soquel, 476-3801 D-R Martin, Soquel,

TIP: There is one raised seating section that has about 3 tables and is sometimes empty. If no one is seated in that section, there is more room for kids who are wiggly." D.R Martin

The Hindquarter, "Delicious food. Fast and attentive waitstaff." Tory W.
"I highly recommend Jalisco's on Main Street in Watsonville as a wonderful place to take kids. It is a noisy and lively place, so kids feel right at home. Our grandkids always love to go there, both for the food--they always find some good Mexican fare they enjoy, and they adore the live music on Saturday evenings. Our five year old thinks having the mariachi band play the song she selects is the greatest. The musicians enjoy the kids and are very sweet to them, and the staff is very kind and understanding about spills." Peggy S.

Kiati's Downtown: They bring the kids crayons and have a great sheet to work on, and dough to play with. They also have pizza throwing demonstrations on the weekend where the whole staff sings. The kids drinks are in kid-friendly cups. They have had Tierra Pacifica kindergartners for field trips twice now and did a wonderful job. Chandra M.

"They set up a high chair or booster seat with a big piece of butcher paper underneath so the kids can make their usual mess without any clean-up hassle. They provide crayons and a kids' menu which has games and space for drawing. The kids' menu is great - numerous options and all good, healthy food that kids will actually like: for instance, a buckwheat pancake with mickey mouse ears, or an antipasto plate with carrot sticks and cheese slices. We love to take our son there!" -Syda M.
